Swiss Machined Parts

Swiss Machining

Benefits of Swiss Machining:

Capability to machine smaller, more complex parts.

Can perform both turning and milling.

Reduced cycle times - single process machining.

Cost savings - can handle smaller barstock.

At Teton Machine, we utilize Citizen Swiss lathes. Because Swiss lathes hold the tooling very close to the collet (chuck), they’re capable of very tight tolerances and fine finishes. How? By minimizing tool deflection (bending) that is caused when pressure is applied to the tool.

This matters, when talking about tolerances measured by thousandths or tens of thousandths of an inch.

Our Swiss lathes are equipped with sub-spindles, live tooling and  bar loaders. This give us the ability to provide you with economical high production machining, gun drilling (for tight tolerance deep holes), and thread whirling (for precision titanium work).

Complex parts + one operation + minimal handling = “The Teton Way.” We’ll build a bulletproof, repeatable, well-documented process that can deliver your precision machined parts today, tomorrow, and into the future.

Swiss Machining Services at Teton

Swiss machining dates back to the late 1800’s. A Swiss watchmaker is credited with the process, which is still widely used today. Swiss machines excel at producing small, precise parts complete in one chucking.

Swiss machining is ideal for a wide variety of applications including:

► Our Swiss machining capacity ranges from 1/16″ to 1 1/4″.

► Tolerances up to +/- .0001
